Originally released as two LP recordings (Is it Yourself and Spring in the Air) eventually re-issued on a single CD; regarded by most Irish music lovers as one of the tradition’s classic, must-have recordings.

The selections on this album were learned from a wide and varied number of sources, including: Denis Murphy, John Kelly, Peadar O’Riada, Mickey Doherty, Francie “dearg” O’Beirne and his brother Mickey Ban OBeirne, Seamus Tansey, Patrick Touhey (from a rare cylinder recording), Rodney Miller, John Doherty, Nellie O’Boyle (from Donegal), Paddy Kelly (from Co. Galway), Jean Carignan, Tommy Peoples, Lad O’Beirne, Paddy Reynolds, Tommy Potts, Paddy O’Brien (from Co. Tipperary), Andy McGann, Larry Radigan, Noel Rice, Sean Bracken (from Co. Meath), Brendan Breathnacht, Cathal, MacConnell, Catherine Brennan Grant, Vincent Broderick (from Co. Galway), Ewan MacColl, and Kevin Mitchell.
